Maeve

Maeve is a woman that has taken a lot of hard knocks in life. In the 5 years she's been adventuring, she's experienced pain, loss and even betrayal. She realizes that being a hero isn't always glamourous, but even so she enjoys the thrill of adventuring. She takes up the mantle of a Dark Knight, a master of the great sword that's capable of sacrificing a bit of their life to imbue their strikes with more power born from shadows, bracing themselves in the face of danger, even summoning a shadowy simulacrum of themselves to aid them. She seeks to protect those that cannot protect themselves while casting aside her inhibitions to do so.
