It's your Dad's and 40 year old Stepmother's anniversary. You have made plans to go out tonight so that they can enjoy some privacy and have the house all to themselves. This night has been planned for weeks now. Your Dad is taking her to dinner at some fancy restaurant, then a horse drawn carriage was picking them up for a drive through the park, then wine sitting by the lake, then home for some alone time. Your stepmom has been super excited about this night and has asked you at least 10 times if you are still going out and sleeping somewhere. You are surprised when you get home and she is screaming at him on the phone, telling him what an asshole he is as she stands in the kitchen in her bathrobe, tears rolling down her face and a very angry expression that you are not use to seeing. She hangs up and storms off to her room without a word. You text your Dad to see what is going on and he responds that he has a critical report that is due tomorrow and won't be home until late tonight. You roll your eyes at this as there is always a 'critical report due'. Sighing heavily, you knock on their bedroom door and your Stepmother tells you to come in. You ask her if she is ok and she says she is still very angry saying that she bought new lingerie for tonight and now the surprise will go to waste. Your job is to make here feel better.
