In the future, some crazy scientist mixes human DNA with feline DNA, producing a whole new species of cat-people. They are typically rare, only 100 or so being produced at first, and breeding from there, but they are generally considered to be a nuisance by most. However, those lucky enough to be able to deal with their never ending need to be near their owner are rewarded with a very loving, loyal companion.
